River Mechanical, Inc. was
started July 1, 2006. Mike Saylor, owner, had spent several years
working for other companies, and was frustrated by the level of
treatment that the customers were receiving. He decided to open
his own business. At Stilly River Mechanical, we are dedicated
to putting our customers first. As life-long residents of the
Stanwood-Camano area, we want to do well by our neighbors. We also believe that it is important to give back to the community. Since 2009,our favorite project each year is the Stilly River Mechanical Scholarship that we award to one graduating SHS senior who is pursing a vocational degree. We donate cleanings to local auctions that support our fellow community members and organizations like the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank. We also support the Stanwood chapter of the National FFA Organization. Each winter, we have special community service projects to help the less fortunate. We supply notebooks to local schools throughout the school year. Mike is also a member of the local Rotary chapter, which is an organization dedicated to community service. We were pleased to work on the Rotary Adventure Playground on Camano Island in May 2010. Our crew took five days to help create this amazing space! We have also begun sponsoring community events such as the Annual CSSA Collectors Car Show & Flea Market and the Camano View Dash to support scholarships in memory of Dana Fure.
Hopefully, you've seen us around. Maybe you've seen our truck or our new little Scion out and about, or perhaps you saw us at the Chili & Chowder Cookoff in November. You might have caught us at the Stanwood-Camano Community Fair--we're the ones giving away free water. Perhaps you found our booth at the Skagit Island Counties Builders Association Home Show in March at the Skagit County fairgrounds. Stilly River Mechanical is owned and operated by Mike Saylor, with some help from his wife, Shannon, a teacher. We both grew up on Camano, from families that have been here for generations. Mike is a licensed contractor, and is bonded and insured. |
